See, I have a feeling I'm going to go crazy with mainly 3-D things the entire semester, so throwing a class like this illustration one in the mix will smooth nerves and help keep me sane.
Welding is an open-door sort of thing in the sculpture department -- anyone who wants to learn just has to go in and dedicate their time and efforts; you don't really need to take a class, just be willing to go in and not be afraid to ask questions.
And, when all else fails, my dad can teach me how to weld -- he's already given me a stack of books to read, now all I have to do is snag him for an hour or two to show me how to work everything in practice.
