You know... I find it incredibly odd that many people say Doctor Who scared them as little things. It's not scary at all -- in fact, it's quite laughable. True, I missed that age three-to-twelve gap, but still.
I used to watch Doctor Who all the time when I was a kid, and I loved it. Then I saw the show again much later as an adult, and I remember thinking that it was an odd thing for an eight-year-old to watch...it seems like it would be boring to a child. I don't see where it would be scary, though.
I've got a friend who to this day blames his arachnophobia on Planet of the Spiders. "GIANT SPIDERS!" he says. "Giant spiders that jump on your back and disappear inside you and TAKE OVER YOUR BRAIN!"
I think the ideas might be scary enough for the 3-12 gap...though they didn't really scare me much even then. But then, I was always a rather old young child. :?P (Surprise, huh?)
