stellie: (cross my hearts...)
>Good Afternoon Ashley,
>Is your friend Tricia?

Yes, ma'am. I had actually started working with her horses near the begining of September -- she helped teach me the basics about grooming and showed me how to do odds and ends. Originally, I had gone with intentions of being in Savannah, Georgia, right now; hoping to have a job driving horse carriages. Unfortunately, things fell through.

>I would want a honest, reliable person with some training in horses who
>would also be comfortable taking care of dogs. I would want someone who
>is dedicated to animals and comfortable with them.

My family and I raise small livestock (sheep, goats, cattle, chickens, rabbits and hogs) and I had originally wanted to become a veterinarian when I was little -- I found out later that I could never put an animal down (although I have when it was needed, I still don't like doing it). We have three dogs, one of which I helped train to herd sheep -- although I was quite young when she was a puppy!

>It is a six day a week job. A house is included as a portion of the wages.
>The utilities and phone would be the responsibility of the employee.

This would not be a problem for me.

>The job includes cleaning, feeding, exercising, conditioning, grooming
>and training of the horses, cleaning, exercising, grooming, and feeding of
>the dogs, and lawn care.

Again, this would be no problem for me. However, I do not know everything about these tasks -- I am a fast learner and would be attentive to even the smallest detail if you had time to spend with me.

>Would you tell me a little about yourself? Interests, Age, pets, children,
>experience with horses, talents with horses, experience with dogs,
>machinery you know how to operate. And anything else you would care to
>say. I am looking for someone, but it is not urgent.
>Please tell me a little about yourself.
>Barbara

  • I'm only 19, I'll be 20 in July.
  • I've always been interested in horses (as they are my first love), but I'm interested in sheep as well (I hope to some day own a nice-sized flock of Dorsets or Corriedales for show, wool and market).
  • I've shown livestock for 9 years, locally and at the state fair of virginia -- (lambs - 9, steers - 1, goats - 3, hogs - 5) I do best in showmanship classes (senior grand and reserve champion showmanship for lambs and hogs for the past few years...)
  • I am not married, nor do I have children.
  • I have run tractors in the past, but not recently.
  • Animals love me and tend to listen to me fairly well.
  • I have an older QH mare that I aquired through Tricia -- due to my other job working me half to death, I've been unable to work with her recently like I would want to...
  • I am currently employed at the Jarratt Fas Shop -- I work all three portions of the store.
  • I am HTML literate and enjoy making colourful and artistic web-designs.
  • Currently hoping that VCU accepts me into their arts program (as I am an aspiring artist... ) and, if things go well, I will be starting classes on the 20th of this month.

I hope that satisfies your curiousity! Although I cannot say for sure if I would be able to take a job at this moment in time, please keep me in mind for the future if you like what you've read. Again, I do not know as much about horses as I probably should for this type of job, but I am a fast learner and will listen attentively to anything you might have to teach me. :)

  • stellie: (bah... stupid git)
    Things that piss me off:
  • People that act like they're better than other people.
  • People that tear pages out of books that DO NOT BELONG TO THEM.
  • People who 'borrow' my inking pens when I specifically tell them NO.
  • People who 'borrow without intent to return'.
  • Things that are horribly beyond my control.
  • Snow/sleet/all around bad weather on my day(s) off.
  • Stupid people.

Meaning : Make Love Not War -- The ram is wearing a shield mask and has oil-based tup paint on his chest (brisket). The phrase 'Make Love Not War' simply means that the shield mask is going to prevent him from seeing other rams and won't disrupt his usual mating habits :P

I found the image quite amusing ^___^
