May. 30th, 2005 05:00 pmTo all of my Emporians/Jarrattonians :P

That, to me, looks like the Jarratt school. ePodunk says it's Greensville County High, but it looks nothing like our present day Emporia Elementary (which is now in shambles). I think they have their memories (or captions) wrong.
PS -- Anyone interested in visiting Virginia (or who live here already) should consider coming for the Virginia Pork Festival, Wednesday June 8th. Live bands, beer for anyone over 21 (they have wrist bands for that), all of the pork you can eat and soda you can drink. A taste of the south (haha) for the low low price of $25.oo. Part of the proceeds go towards non-profit organizations (such as our local Greensville/Emporia 4-H) who work hard all day long to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. Don't eat meat? Don't eat pork for religious or health reasons? There should also be sweet potato sticks and some of the best potato wedges you've ever eaten. Heck, if anything, come down to see the bands. (I doubt I'll be working it this year, mum can't and I'll more than likely be tagging along with her. Anthony might be, though.)
