For those of you not privy to this information, the skein of Cotsy-wool yarn (69 yards) has been dyed. And I am left with red-tipped fingers.

...and the yarn smells, distinctly, of cherries. I used Kool-Aid to dye it... but it didn't take too well so... it's more of a motley red-stained white-wool. It still looks nice :3

If everything goes as planned, it will be given up to the Greensville/Emporia 4-H as a charity piece and auctioned off in the ring after 7:00pm. All proceeds from that auction go towards furthering the development of young minds :P

I would be packing up my stuff this morning but, uh... the room is a disaster area. The Lobster decided to spackle the far wall last night (over top of the pastel rainbow/pot of gold that mum and I did when I was FIVE, might I add) and everything on that far wall is in the middle of the floor. I can't get to any of my things.

Tomorrow will be spent at the ruritan club, helping with weigh-in of all the sheep, goats and pigs for the Show and Sale the day after. We may or may not be attending the show, though -- partial move-in for me, bread run, taking care of the farm... there won't be any time to go.

I have no time for anything D:

I need to find something to eat. Vanilla pudding and gummi worms (not together :P ) do not a good breakfast make.

Every time I glance at my yarn, I want to keep it for myself D:

...this is not going to be easy.

There are so many lovely mistakes in it that I just adore. I left slubs in it that give it character. There are places where it looks like it's double-ply, but it's only because the yarn didn't soak up the dye properly (ie: it looks like a pink and red candy cane!!). There are thick bits and thin bits and in-between bits. It's soft and springy and slightly halo-ing.

Even though it's only 69 yards (not much for project-doing), I love it to death and want it for myself D:

Mrrf. The more I think about it, the more I want it (yarn).

So I asked mum if I should keep it or give it away. She basically told me that if I wanted to keep it, keep it.

...then I thought about it. For the last four years, I've given something of myself -- time and/or creativity -- for the livestock show's sale at the end of the day. Red Velvet Cherry Tortes. Cherry cheesecakes. Sugar cookies (regular and chocolate) in the shape of show lambs and square bales of hay. An acrylic painting done throughout the day. It's only right that I donate my yarn this year -- I might even take some wool with me tomorrow to spin as a demo; I don't think I can be there saturday, unfortunately.

HOT DAMN!

About. Fucking. Time.

EDIT: Those of you with weak stomachs should not view the maggot/fly strike photographs in their gallery. Although it is true-to-life and a natural occurance, it's not a pretty thing. Even though I deal with it periodically, I still cannot take the images in without feeling sick to my stomach.
