The meme text: When you see this, post a poem you like in your journal.

Topsy-Turvy World

IF the butterfly courted the bee,
And the owl the porcupine;
If churches were built in the sea,
And three times one was nine;
If the pony rode his master,
If the buttercups ate the cows,
If the cats had the dire disaster
To be worried, sir, by the mouse;
If mamma, sir, sold the baby
To a gypsy for half a crown;
If a gentleman, sir, was a lady,—
The world would be Upside-down!
If any or all of these wonders
Should ever come about,
I should not consider them blunders,
For I should be Inside-out!

Chorus

Ba-ba, black wool,
Have you any sheep?
Yes, sir, a packfull,
Creep, mouse, creep!
Four-and-twenty little maids
Hanging out the pie,
Out jump’d the honey-pot,
Guy Fawkes, Guy!
Cross latch, cross latch,
Sit and spin the fire;
When the pie was open’d,
The bird was on the brier!

Jack: Aww, sweet, lookit these two... how come I never get any of that?
Doctor: Buy me a drink, first.
Jack: Such hard work.
Doctor: But worth it~ *cheesy grin*

Margaret: He slipped on an icy patch.
He was decapitated!
Margaret: It was a -very- icy patch.

Margaret: Dinner and bondage... works for me.

I need more sweaters :\ So cold. Boomtown is amusing so far X3

Rawr. Have decided to do the sheep-lady for the full project.

I need to find suitable 'wool' now. eBaying time!

(And, damn it, why does it have to have a 30-60% chance of rain on a day when I need to go walking to the museum? I'm not even going to bother, now, just find the museum webpage and write about whatever they say they have in their walls D: )

$8 for five pounds -- black/brown 'jacob' wool. Seems to have a nice crimp. Doesn't quite look like it has the proper staple length for what I'd need it for, though.

$11 for one pound of white llama. It'd take way too long to get here, prolly.

Cria wool, 5 ounces. Probably not enough to do what I'd like to do. Also doesn't have a crimp to it. But it's a very good price.

Gotta love the one ouncers. They've got excellent texture, though -- not sure if I want to put out that kind of money for an ounce here and there, though.

2 pounds, dark grey leicester. Decent, even if short stapled.

Dark chocolate/brown, 15 ounces (nearly a pound). And currently around $15 -- not bad at all!

I've found quite a few bargins today :O Not listing them all, though.

Rawr. Snacking for lunch. Cooking for dinner.

Chicken! And biscuits, if I can manage without my bowl.
stellie: (hungry)
I... have discovered a great sandwich.

Shredded sharp cheddar, yellow mustard (lightly done), black pepper.

Grilled.

NUMMY. Could use a thinly sliced tomato.

Dorset Horn fleece = wanty T-T

The last one of those I took came from Amazon and I spent all day carefully taking the overweight and lanolin-heavy fleece off of her (this is waaaay back when I was uncomfortable with using the electric shears and I used scissors instead). Got it all off in one piece. Skirted it. Folded it in. Tied it up. Stored it away in the rafters of the barn.

Damn dirty birds went and crapped all over it before I could get it down again.

And, dude. It's brown but it's exactly the look I want in my sculpture. I can get over the fact it's brown VERY quickly :D

I've just volunteered for a card deck collab for niko's paint chat.

Whee?

Definitely over stretching myself this year. Ooooh but it's going to be so fun :D
