I can't figure out if leaving it here -- the child, asleep, with the three objects from the story his mother was reading him before he fell asleep (teddy bear, beach ball, tricycle) in his room -- or if I should have the actual sheep in the room with him at this point.

The little sheepie at the bottom is definitely the end page.

Four hours of sleep ahead and then marching myself to Plaza for some thicker paper -- I need a full-size two-page spread on Tuesday for illustration and I don't have any paper long enough :\

I've gotten a lot accomplished tonight... exorcised a lot of issues and now I just want to sleep.

It's snow/raining. Nothing is sticking but OMG I was going to go out and get paper this morning for my project :( I still can... but I'm not sure I really want to.

Trying to get those last few pages done. I know exactly how I want them as far as the layout is concerned... I just don't know about this:

My transition pages (the two pages between the final 'A SHEPHERDESS OF SHEEP' and 'Goodnight, Sweet Lamb' -- the two pages between 'Goodnight, Sweet Lamb' and 'And May Sheep Invade Your Dreams')... should I show the mother's face at all? I'm not even sure I want to do what I'm doing in my little marker sketches right now... it seems as though I'm putting the shepherdess from this child's book in as his mother.

Which can work, surely.

But I think I want to stay away from her face, leave that lingering sense of familiarity with the clothing and the body, ribbons and lace. There's a lingering familiarity with the child's toys mirroring the items that the sheep played with....

The transition pages themselves have no text and they're the only pages without text. I think of them as visual elipses so I'm going to block them out as dot-dot, dot-dot. It's SO going to work, I know it.

And I know I did a little end of semester angst last night but... this morning I'm all fired up to get this done. I know exactly how it's supposed to look and I have just under two weeks to work everything out and churn out a final piece.

I can do this.

Evening classes are cancelled beginning at 5 p.m.
VCU Medical Center Clinics will open at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, December 6.

YES! Trani broke and cancelled classes! Which means I can focus on my projects instead of stopping what I'm doing to attend class on the other end of campus!

Dear Students:
1. You may have heard the sad news that class is cancelled tonight. If you are doing extra credit, please bring it to the final test period next Monday evening, December 12 at 7 p.m. All make-ups will be given that evening also.
2. The other "sad" news is that your final test will probably be shorter since it cannot deal with the material I was going to cover tonight.

Violet, Lauren and I just spent the last two hours speaking fragments and sentences in french and spanish to one another, carrying on conversations as best we could.

I asked Lauren for a banana in spanish :3 And I got one! So I'm quite full and happy and have lots of work to do, tra!

Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! In March I stole last_unicorn's purse (-30 points). Last Monday I pushed snowhawk in the mud (-17 points). Last Sunday I put gum in the_4th_doctor's hair (-12 points). Last week I set taxidermied's puppy on fire (-66 points). In February I ruled Canada as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points).
